Why I’m Creating a TikTok Ad Strategy Course (and What It Has to Do with Scrum)
If you’ve been following my work around Scrum and agile thinking, this might come as a bit of a surprise.
I’m currently building a course about TikTok ads. (More info about TikTok ads you can find here)
To be more specific, it’s called TikTok Ad Strategy Accelerator – From Scroll to Smart Growth.
And if you’re wondering what TikTok marketing has to do with Scrum… I get it!!!
Honestly, I had the same question in the beginning.
But the deeper I got into it, the more I saw how connected these two worlds really are.
Let me show you what I mean.
- TikTok Smart+ campaigns follow the same pattern as Scrum itself: Scrum is built around the idea that we inspect what’s happening, adapt quickly, and repeat. TikTok’s Smart+ campaign system works almost exactly the same way. It watches what’s working, adjusts in real time, and keeps improving performance.
There’s no need to micromanage every detail. You give it structure and intent, and then let the system learn and grow. Just like a good Scrum team does. Right? - Thinking like a strategist is exactly what a Product Owner does. This course isn’t about clicking buttons or learning the latest hack. It’s about learning to think clearly. Choosing the right campaign for the right situation and knowing when to automate (relatable to software testing), when to invest in creative, and when to pause. That’s how a good Product Owner approaches their backlog. It’s about making the right moves at the right time.
- Every TikTok campaign is a sprint. You launch, you learn, you adapt. That’s how Scrum works. And that’s how TikTok campaigns work when you approach them the right way. You don’t need to be a genius or a media buyer. You just need a way to test small, learn fast, and adjust as you go.
Which is what this course teaches you to do.
The Real Agile Opportunity
If you’re serious about Agile, Scrum, Software Testing, User Requirement… software development in general, TikTok is a real-time experiment lab.
- You test fast.
- You get feedback instantly.
- You adapt quicker than on any other platform.
And it’s all based on understanding data, just as we are doing in Scrum!
- Every TikTok post is a user story.
- Every campaign is a sprint.
- Every comment is customer feedback (direct, emotional, raw)
You don’t need to like TikTok.
You just need to understand what it represents: speed, learning, and customer connection, at scale.
So what’s this course really about?
Here’s the idea I have.
Most TikTok ad courses show you where to click. This one shows you how to think.
I’m designing it for business owners, marketers, creators, and digital consultants who want to use TikTok to grow, but without wasting time, energy, or money doing it the wrong way.
Most importantly, if you’re involved in any kind of product development, this course will help you better understand your data, your customers, and even your developers, which is exactly why I’m building it and why I believe it could be a game changer for you.
The total runtime will be about 3 hours. So it’s deep, but digestible. Strategic, but not overwhelming.
You’ll learn
- How TikTok ads actually work, from a strategy point of view
- Which campaign type fits your business (Smart+, Shop Ads, or Shopify)
- How to build a campaign blueprint before touching the ad tool
- What makes creative perform, and what doesn’t
- How to read your results without drowning in metrics
- How to budget and test without wasting your money
- When to move forward, and when to wait
- And much more…
By the end, you won’t just know what the tools do, you’ll know which ones make sense for you, why they work, and how to use them confidently.
No guesswork. No tech overwhelm!
